Dear participants,
Thank you for your interest in this questionnaire entitled “Your dog’s life during Summer and Winter”, conducted as part of a research project at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (VetMedUni Vienna, Austria) in cooperation with the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB, Brazil).
This questionnaire investigates how dog owners perceive and manage their dogs’ thermal comfort, behavior and well-being during hot summers and cold winters. Participation is voluntary and anonymous, and you may discontinue at any time without consequence.
The survey addresses the following questions:
- How do dog owners manage their dogs during summer and winter?
- Which behavioral or physical signs of thermal (dis)comfort are commonly observed?
- Are there differences between climates, regions or phenotypes of dogs?
- How aware are owners of heat stress and cold-related risks?
The goal of this study is to improve scientific knowledge about canine thermal comfort and to develop future recommendations to support dog welfare.
The survey should take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers. Your response will be evaluated anonymously, and no personally identifying information will be collected. You may withdraw at any time by closing the browser.
This research is supervised by the Animal Welfare Unit of Vetmeduni Vienna, Veterinärplatz 1, 1210 Vienna, Austria. If you have any questions, please email: dogs.summer.winter@vetmeduni.ac.at
